    Dive Control Specialist (Dive Con) Course

 

Course Description:  The SSI Dive Control Specialist course is designed to be the first step in preparing divers to become a SSI Dive Leader. In this course, you will gain the knowledge and  skill set to begin your professional career as a Dive Control Specialist (Dive Con).  The Dive Con is both a Divemaster and an Assistant Instructor. The Dive Con can organize and supervise dive trips, lead groups of certified divers on underwater tours, assist SSI Instructors with dive classes, and teach snorkel diving classes, scuba skills update/refresher courses, first aid/CPR programs, selected specialty courses, and Scuba Rangers (after completing the Scuba Rangers Instructor training).

Course Schedule:   This course can be arranged to meet your needs and schedule.  It generally takes 16 weeks to complete, with one to two sessions per week.

Course Fee:  $950.00

•     SSI Dive Control Specialist Manual and Materials

      SSI Dive Control Specialist Certification Card

      Additional Books and Materials May be Suggested by the Instructor

Course PrerequisiteCourse Prerequisite:  To qualify for SSI Dive Control Specialist training you must:

     Be at least 18 years of age.

     Have logged at least 60 open water dives.

     Provide own scuba equipment of leadership quality. *

     Have a current medical exam for diving, signed by a physician.

     Be certified at the Advanced Open Water level.

     Complete a Diver Stress and Rescue course or equivalent.
     Have current certification in First Aid and CPR
     Have logged experience in Navigation, Night Diving, Deep Diving, and Search and Recovery.
